We didn’t start in telecom. We started in travel, and one question our travellers kept asking led us here.
Our Story
Before Luxxe eSims, there was Luxxe Travel Services.
For years, we sent Caribbean travellers out into the world on the trips they’d saved for, dreamed about, and counted down to: beach escapes in Mexico, city breaks in Europe, road trips along Croatia’s coastline. We handled the flights, the hotels, and every small detail that turns a trip into a memory.
But no matter how well we planned, one question kept coming back to us. Sometimes from the airport. Sometimes from a hotel lobby. Always with the same hint of worry:
“How do I stay connected while I’m travelling?”
We saw it happen again and again. A traveller lands in Cancún and her phone goes silent, with no way to let family back home in Trinidad know she’d arrived safely. Someone’s maps app won’t load on a Rome side street. Another comes home from Paris to a roaming bill bigger than the cost of the excursions. In Croatia and Romania especially, connectivity was consistently the weak link in an otherwise perfect trip.
Our travellers weren’t asking for much. They wanted three things: connectivity that works the moment they land, setup simple enough to do from the boarding gate, and pricing with no nasty surprises. The market wasn’t giving them all three, so we decided to build it ourselves.
The Search for Something Better
That question sent us down a rabbit hole we didn’t expect.
We researched how eSIM technology actually works. We compared networks and coverage standards, country by country. We tested product after product: some were unreliable the moment you needed them most, others were affordable until you actually needed them.
We tested. We discarded. We tested again. We weren’t building for an anonymous market. We were building for people we knew by name, people who had trusted us with their travel plans for years.
Then it came together: the right product, the right connectivity standard, and the right price.
Luxxe eSims was born in 2025.
